Parkville's sandbag wall will stand a while longer
The worst of the 2011 Missouri River flood seems to be over, but the sandbag wall protecting downtown Parkville will remain up for at least the next week, and probably longer, city officials says.

A few business owners are concerned that the wall — 20,000 sandbags stacked 5 feet tall — is keeping some visitors away.

Tom Hutsler, business and property owner in downtown Parkville, said it leaves some people confused about parking. The wall only subtracts about a dozen parking spaces, but it blocks access to the main entrance of the downtown parking lot.

Carol Kuhns, head of the Main Street Parkville Association and a downtown Parkville business owner, met with city officials Monday to discuss the issue. It's a shame bipartisanship and compromise are dirty words in the political spectrum these days. Why else could corporations NOT be hiring and be turning a profit? I know from your posts that you operate under the assumption that the government somehow
The upside is that the company is sticking to its original timeline for offering this functionality. And yes, HTC is planning to distribute an officially sanctioned way to do a fairly nerdy and complex thing — moving at least some control from

Every human being is having two virtual circles in his entire life. The inner circle is circle of influence on which you have full control and outer one is circle of concern on which you dont have any control. You cannot change the weather(outer circle). Worrying about how cold or hot is not going to help you, but you can wear adequate clothing(inner circle with your control) to over come it. Simple. If it wasn't for that ceiling the vast majority of the visas will go to applicants from the oversubscribed countries. Now this is not a bad thing if the visas are in unlimited supply. But since that's not the case, the country ceiling ensures that even people from smaller nations will get an equal oportunity to claim a visa before all the visa are grabbed by their BIG brothers and sisters. And what's more what ever is left is given back to the oversubscribed countries. My intention was not to devalue the merits of the incoming batch of immigrants. As I said, around 20% of the group are truly the best and the brightest. This was the case after the dotcom crash and will most likely be the case going forward. We had the same delays, retrogressions , guaranteed employment verification RFEs etc. Immigrationportal.com used to be the immigrationvoice of the times. I do not see much difference for the techies between what was then and what is going on now in terms of delays. I see 2 dramatic changes though If you think through deeply, the second point is what is causing all the heartburn among the people waiting for their GCs. Believe me. All these extrapolated timelines that scream that getting GC today would take 10 years are all bogus. These headlines were the same then too. I can confidently say that the GC process will move fast within a year's time once the layoffs stop. It is just that can you survive till the govt policies become more rational ? That is where the argument about the best and the brightest come into place.
