Marié (pronounced Mar-ee-ay) Digby’s songs are becoming a favorite these days. I can easily relate to her songs; maybe because we experienced the same things. She is an American singer and song writer, who became known for her version of Rihanna’s Umbrella. An excellent pianist and guitarist + great songs + pretty face and gorgeous hair = wala na. Siya na. Haha
A few days back, a band added me as a contact here in Multiply. It’s a local band from Cebu, the Sundown Caffeine (though some members grew to work here in Manila). They write their own songs, so there’s another thing to be proud of from our local bands. :) They have feel-good music, which you can listen to anytime (but I like it best to listen to it during quiet nights or early morning). What I find interesting in this band is how they came up with their name. Since I’m feeling too lazy to write my own, I’d gladly quote them:
“The hard part was coming up with a band name. We would collectively come up with the name describing the strong cafe culture in the Philippines and how people drank coffee during the evenings, not because they needed to stay awake but because they wanted to. Same thing goes for our music. We do it not because it's necessary but because it's a shared passion that never seems to leave us alone until we're put to the ground. Hence, we came up with "Sundown Caffeine".” Thanks for the support, May. It's people like you who give us a fighting chance. :)
