Adagio Gourmet Tea Collection Gift Boxes

The good folks at Adagio Teas were kind enough to send me two of their Gourmet Tea Collection boxes: Artisan Comfort and Sweet Medley. Artisan Comfort contains a selection of classic teas (five servings of each type), ranging from Silver Needle to Golden Yunnan, while Sweet Medley offers up some flavored favorites, such as Vanilla Rooibos and Earl Grey. Each tea is packaged in a silky pyramid bag and sealed in its own foil pouch. The Artisan Comfort box sells for $24 while Sweet Medley goes for $19: These would make great hostess, Secret Santa and holiday gifts. The boxes also offer an attractive tea presentation, quite suitable for entertaining.

As for the pyramid tea bags: Adagio has long been a champion of loose leaf tea drinking and has produced some innovative brewing systems, such as the IngenuiTEA to make loose leaf tea convenient . Unfortunately, Adagio has found that many tea drinkers still love their tea bags, so they give customers the option of buying tea loose or in bags. Adagio’s teabags are string-less, pyramid bags which look quite elegant. The trouble is that one really needs a spoon to work with these teabags, as there is no string to move the teabag around the cup, nor to remove the teabag after infusion. No spoon? You have a choice of poorly infused tea or burnt fingers. (Of course, you can always be a purist and just rip open the teabags and brew the leaves loose.)
