Like so many other people I'm sure, I think that our popular media is going down the tubes fast. I don't know if this has most to do with the fact that I am Christian and more sensitive than some, but I think our media is outright trash sometimes. And the worse thing is that I don't see it getting any better. The media that I am mainly referring to is stuff like books for children, movies, and music. Undoubtedly there are more than that, but you get the point. I'm not advocating insulation from all of these things, but I am saying that the need to live better and more Christ-like is even more important now than ever before.

The place to start is at church. I can't think of anything better to bring myself back to center than by going to church and partaking of all the Christian resources that they have available for me. It's a great place to re-connect with friends as we worship and talk about sacred things. One of the other things that are a huge help to me are all the Christian stores that supply me with good media. Whether you realize it or not, there are a lot of Christian stores in the U.S. But if you can't find a brick and mortar store, you can always shop on the internet for anything you need.

Christian stores carry some of the best and most worthwhile children's books and products that I know of. Even though children's books are about as common as ants, very few of them contribute anything to a child's mind and spirit. I mean, do we want our kids reading books about wizards, or about Christ and his disciples? Don't we all love us some inspiring artwork? I love that most Christian stores have a large selection of Christ-centered artwork. I know that my home would not be complete without quality and uplifting artwork, and I'm sure most of you could say the same. Artwork is a way that we can make our homes a little piece of heaven on earth.

And how much worse off would our church congregations be if we did not have church resources? Christian stores supply our churches with the supplies we depend on. If we didn't have them, our church-going experience would be insignificant compared to what it is today. The point here is that there is tons of trashy media out there in the world but we can dodge it by shopping at the Christian store. We need our expose our family to good things and buying Christian products is the best way to do it.
