Michael Gracey Will Direct Hugh Jackman in "The Greatest Showman on Earth"
The 20th Century Fox film casts Jackman as P.T. Barnum, the legendary showman whose life was also explored in the Broadway musical Barnum .
The film, according to the industry paper, will focus on Barnum's relationship with opera singer Jenny Lind; an actress has yet to be cast in that role.
Jenny Bicks ("Sex and the City") has penned the screenplay for the film. Jackman and John Palermo are producing with Laurence Mark.
Jackman, who was seen on screen in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," earned a Tony Award for his work in the Broadway musical The Boy From Oz. He is also known for his film roles in the "X-Men" trilogy, "Someone Like You," "Swordfish," "Kate and Leopold," "Van Helsing," "The Fountain" and "Happy Feet" (in voice). His stage credits also include Trevor Nunn's staging of Oklahoma! at Britian's National Theatre and award-winning work in productions of Sunset Boulevard and Beauty and the Beast in his homeland. He will also be seen in the film version of Les Miserables .

zomBcon | The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus Signs onto ZomBcon 2011
Just when you thought the guest list couldn’t get any better, ZomBcon delivers the goods. Norman Reedus (Boondock Saints fame) joins cast member, Jon Bernthal this season for TV’s most anticipated show, THE WALKING DEAD. Season two will premiere the week before ZomBcon International 2011 and perfect timing for the crew to give us insight into the new season. Norman will be appearing for all three days for panels, signings and photo opportunities.
In the show, “I play Daryl Dixon [pictured at left below], who’s half of an ex-con brother duo who are basically pretty hardcore, pretty stuck in their ways”; his bro is Merle, portrayed by Michael Rooker (see Rooker’s comments here ). “He’s the type of guy who you don’t know if he’s going to slit your throat while you’re sleeping or cry on your shoulder. He’s so mixed up, a bad-ass looking for a place; a lot of the time, he seems like a circle trying to go into a square hole. It’s a battle.”
The characters of Daryl and Merle don’t exist in Robert Kirkman’s WALKING DEAD comics; they were created for the TV incarnation by executive producer/writer/director Frank Darabont, whom Reedus calls “Fantastic. He’s a really talented man, everybody loved him and he really loved the cast. It was a thrill to work with him.” He has similar strong feelings for Greg Nicotero, one of the series’ makeup FX wizards. “He’s a genius, that guy,” the actor raves. “He’s really amazing.
