Living a Life and Loving it: An Adventure in Redwood City
Last week, I finally managed to visit the new office of John. I rode the Caltrain, ignoring my initial intimidation with it (I only used the train once before, on my birthday, and I was completely shocked by its practical nature - it was huge, noisy and run at long intervals, contrary to the compact and regular of the London Underground), and was rewarded for obtaining Mountain View to Redwood City in about 20 minutes, just in time for lunch. John picked me up and we had Thai on Broadway with one of his colleagues, then returned to the office because they had an important business meeting.I stayed in the back yard of the building and enjoyed an afternoon in the sun, writing. Curiously, there was something to London on the implementation, these corporate facilities have been designed in a way very similar to the apartment complex right behind Vauxhall Bridge, turquoise glass and all. I must admit that large companies this is often deprived of heart or scruples, knows how to invest in comfort. There was something nice garden, courtyard deserted, occupied only by me and a flock of pigeons that played under the willows. It was windy that around the bay, and it was quiet.I thought I could hear the engines of all machines to make money from behind the walls, and I could feel some kind of pressure usually associated with an intense intellectual work. The technology was developed here, complex software was written, new products were designed. Of course, I had nothing to do with it, although I appreciate the potential of the technological revolution thing of all, I'm just a consumer of the need. So I put my feet and enjoyed some old-school drag, does not do much to deepen the reflection.That's when the idea of creating two separate blogs came about - one personal and one on literature.
